ok, I decided I wanna 20cc plane. but i'm cheap and lazy.

so, decided to build a foam 20cc hybrid in a joint venture with dhooks supplying the engine and swervos.

hence the name!

got cores cut and some c/f wing tubes.

i attached the lamsuk parts files, print them at 125% and you can use them to scratch one out outa foam or balsa.

Awesome!! :tu: :tu: :tu:

20cc you say....must be suitable for a 120ax or an YS110 I hope.. Gas is to boring, nutting to clean up after a days flying.

If it's any good I'll PayPal you 5 bucks for plans

printed the lamsuk at 125%.

used the patented thom pin method to transfer lines to the foam... connect the dots!

a few minutes with the table saw and a drill.

presto! core assembly.

the foam cuts good on a table saw, by the way. I think i'll use it more on the foam, as it cuts square and clean.

epoxied oak bearersto ply, then glued everything at once. put a bunch of rubberbands on it, weighted and let dry. came out pretty good.

drilled and glued 8 dowels to tie ply together.

hack off extra foam and machine sand close to shape. will hand block from there.

close up of mount area. should be stout.

lightening holes should be called weakening holes.

it's not the ply that's heavy on this, it's the 3/4"x12" oak bearers that weigh. it'll still be lighter than your shit!

i'd rather use thinner material than cut holes in something. 1/16 solid balsa ribs a lot stronger than 1/8 with a buncha holes in it,and same weight.

any time you cut through the grain, you've lost your strength. is not as obvious in ply, but it's still weaker. better to use 1/16 ply than 1/8 with holes.

and liteply is pretty useless except to provide a hardpoint. brittle crapola.

so sez wild fred.
