Hey...no kidding here. The FedEx guy delivered a DA50 to my doorstep on Valentines day. Now thats what I call a nice V-Day gift.

It's just a shame I had to give it to myself

That's a nice flying plane OMP. It's been my primary plane for 3 seasons now.

They've been kind of scarce for a year or two. I've got a second kit I've been thinking about starting. I wouldn't hesitate if I knew I could pick up another one. I was going to make templates for the ribs and plywood.

Did GP run another lot; or did you get lucky and find one?

If you get her the diamond, this is the last plane she'll ever buy you; I'd hold out for a 35%er.

This is my friends 33% Gee Bee. May it rest in pieces. He had a slight prop strike on take off and didn't know until he saw the cuts in the pavement from his Mezjlik prop and evaluated the crash. That plane needs every inch of prop on takeoff. It was beautiful. The ironic thing was he wanted to fly it a few times before he put the remainder of the trim on the plane. It was the very first flight after he trimmed it. It's a Composite ARF and DA 150. The DA 150 split in half as well.

If you want to see the whole tribute with vids that I made for him:

My wife bought me a simulator package at UPS. 1 hour of simulator time at the UPS Hub in Louisville. It was an American Heart Association "Crystal Heart Gala" Live auction item. We agreed that we were not going to buy anything this year, but she said that when she heard the auction going she knew that it would be a chance of a lifetime event for me and she threw up her bid card...$1000 later, I have an hour at the sim for me and her, my dad and one other...most likely a friend of hers.

I was dumbfounded, all I wanted for valentines was a new Dremel tool and I get one of the best gifts she could ever get me.

I kinda felt bad when I was picking out a couple sweaters for her at Wally-World.
