I do it befor I stick the satb. and wings in, its so much easier if they are all nice straight flat surfaces.

When do you cover your # 9 violator
Before you stick the wing and stabs?
After the bird is stuck together?

First I trace the fuselage on the back of the intended covering. Then I'll cover and install the wing and stabs. The fuselage is covered last, with care in cutting out where the wing and stab are to get a tight fit. Then I slap on the trim.
