First of all the Pro Bros are all about flying, building and bullshitting but this AMA thing is pretty important too. So at the risk of being political we need to get the Dave M. issue out there loud and proud. Here is an email I got today from Dave:

I think Dave M. is right about pulling the Dave Brown stuff so people can focus on the right name. If you care about this put it in your sig. It's an easy way to get his name out there. How many AMA future tense presidents do you think would take the time to hang with the Brothers?

Man you guys are tough. But..... a good politician will find a way to avoid answering the tough questions by changing the topic to something that endears him to those asking the those questions. Therefore.... I ran into this guy at the STARS Scale Rally in Olean, NY on Saturday.

Thanks to all of you who are pitching me to your modeling buddies and putting my name in the signature line of you online posts. Campaign statements will be out soon and I hope mine will give you something more to support me on other than just blind faith.

Campaign statements from the candidates are due in Muncie by August 1st. I'm ready to go but I'm holding off on releasing it until after the deadline. I don't want to give anyone else the opportunity to see mine and rebut what I say in their statement or take form my to add to their own.

Well, it's time. The cutoff date for candidate statements to be in Muncie is today at 5 PM EST. My campaign website is www.mathewson4pres.com and went on-line about a half hour ago. There you can find out a little more about me and hear my ideas and vision for the future of modeling and AMA by taking a look at my campaign statement. There is also a discussion forum on my website but I'll be checking in here too. So if you have any questions on what I've written fire away either here or there. Marc Vigod at RC Universe has also set up a sub-forum of the AMA Discussion Forum for me over on RCU. He's has also offered to set up a similar forum for the other candidates if they're interested. Anyhow, that's about it for now. I want to thank those of you who have thrown your support my way and hope you agree with the direction I'd like to see AMA go.

Just read your web site campain statement, I'm impressed. Like you I believe in bringing youth into model aviation, however the problem that I have run into the most is the parents. My son has several friends who love coming to the flying field with us and I have let them fly with a buddy box. The problem is the parents won't support them and allow them to pursue the hobby. I offered to give an old trainer (RTF) to one of them and the parent said no.

Any way good luck Dave, you have my support
