I fly with just a little expo...
I like her mushy in the middle.
Why do you ask?
i dont use any expo only thing I have set up on my radio is duel rates and they hardley ever get takin of of high rates.

Just asking, becauce i use a sky sport 6 and i cant do anything with it just dual rates :( . But i like the way my magic flys that way I was curious if flyng with expos made a real difference...
I think that when i buy a digital radio i wont use expos cause i have been flying with out them since my first airplane

Dont you think expos make a plane fly strange i like it when i have full response when i move the sticks
I play around with expo. So far I like using expo better than without it. Think of it like when your are working with a picture in a picture editing program. You can get in and make some very precise changes if you enlarge the picture. Sometimes I work with individual pixels to get the effect I want. Expo lengthens the input I can make to the plane. I can make a more precise input. More control is added by using expo IMO.

I lived a few years without ever having sex. I suppose I could have just kept that life style and not known any better. Better is the word. Expo isn't as good as sex but I'm glad I tried em both.

My first time with expo was a Pizza Box. I suppose I could've eventually learned to fly it without expo. But I got tired of scaring everybody at the airfield. Now - I suppose I could wean myself from it. I could also wean myself from this high-speed cable modem too - LOL
yeah like tator said, some people are purists and thats cool, but every top rc pilot uses expo (not that im a top pilot) for the simple reason that you will be more precise with it, i do use crash switches (DR) too but i use just enough expo that i dont overcontrol the elevator and rudder in presision moves like slow rolling circle and shit and i only use DR if i need to depends on the plane and what im trying to do.
i use about 30-40% -expo (futaba neg is what you want) just enough to be smooth, not mushy :D
and those guys that say expo sucks, they would be better if they used it...IMO :D

Im glad you added that. Good analogy though....
There isn't anything wrong with doing anything and everything possible to make the plane that much easier to fly. Expo is a personal issue, and has to deal more with your personal taste. At least in the amount that you use on any paticular model.
Mixing out any bad or unwanted tendencies the plane might have is just a way of making you a better pilot. If you went to the LHS and they had two identical planes sitting there on the self only dif being plane no. 1 had a little bit of pitch and roll coupling in knife edge, and some slight wing rocking in harrier, and plane no. 2 had absolutely no pitch or roll coupling and was a rock in harrier, you'd take no. 2 everytime. I can't see anyone taking no. 1 over no. 2 just cuz it makes them a better pilot. And fortunately we can choose no. 2 everytime with the computerized radios we have.
That is why my Skysport has sat in the corner for the last 6 years since I got my 8u and now my 9c.

I think the official ProBro policy is:
Don't ask. Don't Tell.
Thanks a lot for the inf!!!
I use to use a lot of Expo but when I started trying to do rolling harriers etc I found that it made the stick travel to much Now I tend to like 10 to 15 on elevator and rudder
I only have dual rates set up for the elevator. The throws are the same but on low rates, I have more expo set up and that makes landing easier. I do have spoilerons set up also. I went to a new field the other day and apparantly the folks had never seen a profile fly (at least the people there that day). I was doing some low harrier rolls down the runway and turning around and coming down the other end. I overheard one guy telling someone that what I was doing was made possible because of programing in my radio. That was the most ridiculous thing I'd ever heard but being a guest, I just kept flying and pretended I didn't hear anything.

Are you serious?? I guess there is always one "armchair know it all" at every club. *sigh* What can you do?
