What is "THE" Shock Flyer set up. I'm looking for 2:1+ thrust to weight ratio, with minimal weight.

I have a friend with the nippy, and he isn't all that thrilled with it. Is there another set up, with a better thrust to weight ratio?

Some cdrom conversions can give a 2:1. I like the looks of the typhoon micro 6/3D. Its lighter than the normal micro 6, and it can swing a bigger prop. More info here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=238374

I think this is the best setup:

AXI 2208/34
Pheonix Micro 10
Cirrus 4.4 Servos
2or3 cell 340 lipos

This setup offers outstanding thrust to weight ratio for incredible performance.

I have one with the Nippy 0808 and it has more like 2.5-1 thrust ratio

The AXI is like $78 and then another $24 for the mount. Don't know whether its 2:1 or or what, but it will hover at about 1/3 power with fresh batteries. About 70-75%% throttle gives you unlimited vertical...well until you run out of juice or your eyes pop out.

I wouldn't get the 340's though -- I would get at least 700mah. It hovers with 1/3 on the Kokam 340's but only for about 3 minutes and then you need to start increasing it. If you want some 2 cell 340's, I'll sell you one of mine.
