the remote needles on my .50SX and .46FX are leaking and nothing I do will stop it, I tried a perry carb on the .50 and I couldnt get it to stay on so I have to go back to remote. Who makes a good remote needle that DOESNT leak?

A buddy went thru this, he had the LHS get hin OS 4D carb..Better carb, no remote needle.

I don't know of any aftermarket remote needles, I've made them from OS Spraybar assemblies. Bob Violett makes a remote needle, but it's mucho $$$$
Ok, this might be a dumb question, but how do you tell when the
remote needles are leaking. Do you see air bubbles in the line after
the needle at full throttle :?:
you will see air in the line after the needle but not not before. I allways take the remote needle off when I can. Not shur if you can move the needle onto the carb or not on those engines.

I dont think its where the needle is, I think its the crappy design from os. I for sure am not buying an engine from them ever again.
The only engine I have a remote needle valve on is my os91 ducted fan and I've not had any trouble with it yet. However All the guys at our field with the remote needle valves seem to constantly have trouble with them leaking air.

The 4D carb would be a sweet solution. This is the old non-remote needle version that came on the OS 46SF (the best 46 OS ever made). I've come across a few on Ebay and bought a couple in the past.
K&B used to have a remote needle valve....dont know if they were any good or if they still make them. Some of the .61s came with no needle valve though. The LHS had one for about 15 bucks, may still have it he takes web orders if you are interested.
cut the RN off and get a la40-46 remote neadle kit they are molded nylon and cant leak, ive heared of this being bone but i have not had any problem with my 46fx at all, runs better than my TT46 which had a leaky front bearing from day1
