I think for the most part we all cut thos out of Monocote if you print them out the size you want reversed then use some spray adhesive and stick them to the back of the covering material the film side there pretty easy to cut out

I've moved away from Monokote for my lettering and started using sign vinyl. Depending on the color, I get it for $1.50 to $3/yard for 15 inch wide rolls.

No matter what I do, my Monokote letters start peeling.

I'm usually pretty lucky with my letters not peeling... but then again, with
my work habits, I'm only flying a handful of times each year.
Maybe if I was burning up gallons a month like some, I'd have more trouble.

Nice tip, on the sign vinyl though... never considered it for planes before.
How does it hold up to our glow fuel, anyhow? I may have to try it out.

I'll probably take the lazy route, and head to my local sign-shop with
the font on disk... and just pay the man. Usually $10-$20, for most of
the stuff I'd want. Never used them for planes, but used 'em plenty for
custom lettering on PC's, custom stickers for cars, and things like that.

Hiyas, Stratcat... I didn't see your response, until after posting my own.

Are those, "sizes", or your proposed "prices" for the decals? Just curious.
I may not be reading your post clearly enough. I might be willing to give
you a shot on the decals, however... I'm getting too lazy to cut out stuff
like that, for myself. (Well... not lazy, so much as, "spare-time deficient" )
Worth it for me to just pay someone else, half the time. Especially...

...After my "traumatic experiece" discount, of course. Here's the stage:
200W of sound, still turned up to floor-jarring levels, since our listening
session earlier on Friday night... Running Windows with system sounds
OFF or I woulda caught the loudness late last night... but NOooooo!
It's 2:00AM, everybody else is in bed, the house is quiet as a mouse...
when, all of a sudden, with no warning whatsoever, I get this pounding,
ballsy-sounding, "W-E-L-C-O-M-E! ", coming from my speakers.

After I changed underwear, I found it amusing, The traumatic part comes
tomorrow, when wifey serves me up a double ration of hell, because our
little girl didn't find it amusing at all. (And she's still awake, though she did
finally stop crying, a few minutes ago. Tonight... I got the dagger eyes.
Tomorrow... I'll probably get the honey-do-list-from-hell. Thanks  )

That Wizzard font is pretty cool. I'd be interested in buying something reading PRO BRO in about 4" lettering, so that PRO would go on one outer bottom wing panel and BRO on the other. My real bro made some 4" Probro letters out of monokote for the bottom of the Morris Sledge he built for me. Looks cool, but a bit bubbly. I'd like a set or two of vinyl decals for my Fazer and for the Taco I'll build this winter.

Ordered myself a shirt from Billy off the homepage too. Might as well be a total bro!

Quicker, I got away from the Monokote thing because of the time involved making them and appling them. I was ironing the Monokote onto a piece of glass and cutting them out using a #11. When i had the design finished with multiple colors, I treated the area to apply with Topflite Solvent, layed frisket over the cut design and peeled it off of the glass. Layed it down on the area and peeled the frisket away. As you can see it's a procedure. But i never had one peel off.

The vinyl is alot easier.

By the way guys this is my first post. Great site. I know I'll like it here.
