ProBro flyin at Jetero

Check the calendar April 2005. I'm thinking a flyin at Jetero R/C Club would be kickass. We have a great site and I personally would love seeing faces for all these names. I might actually even be able to hover by then. It could happen.

Shit, I put this in the wrong forum. Could I get a little help moving this to the right place, Please?
Ok I'll bite where the hell is Jetero????
Go to the website. It's all there.
We are about 15 miles East of Hwy59 on the North side of Houston, Texas, right off Hwy 1960. There is a map on the website.

It's near Houston, but with Horrace Cain being even remotely involved with the club I can't imagine it being very Bro-friendly...
Horrace Cain is a member of the club and a friend of mine. No one member of the club will have anything to do with an event that happens here. This was my idea and I passed it by the club president last night and he told me to go for it.
So, lets just proceed from there like we were all having a good time.
Jim,
we have already planned a annual Houston Pro Bro. It will be the 3rd one and will be held at Space City in March. Used to be at Scobee.
I was thinking about April of next year but now I find out that there is already one scheduled for Houston. Oh well, it was a thought.

Chuck,

I was going to post exactly the same thing.
I was a member there for a long time and I Know Horrace.

Your statement is directly on point.
Ok, guys, I surrender! Forget that I said anything at all about a ProBro flyin at Jetero. I didn't realize that there was already one scheduled here in Houston or I would not have said anything.
Don't feel bad, Jim. I hated that I even said anything bad about your buddy Horrace, but that's just the way I see it.

If you aren't totally soured on the whole deal, why not come to Space City in March and experience a ProBro first hand??

Trust me...although ProBro events have an exemplary safety record (I've never seen so much as a finger cut on a prop!), they would give pause to a by-the-rules-AMA guy like Horrace. I see no need to try to induce friction between the parties involved by bringing a ProBro event to Jetero.

And the kicker is.. AMA rules are not abused at a ProBro, but it's not unusual to see a foamy fly behind the flight line, off to the end. Now that is a violation of AMA rules, enough to give Horrace an apoplexy....but in practice it's very safe, no more unsafe than flying off the secondary runway. Yet it would be enough to set a wanna be AMA president into spasms.

And this isn't meant to be a debate over AMA rules, not at all. Just that in general, CD's that are wound too tight and a ProBro event would put each into an uncomfortable situation..something neither of us needs.

Its actually safer to have a foamy flying at the end behind the flight line compared to flying on the flight line and not getting out of the way quick enough and taking out a big glow plane.... JMHO.
I don't feel bad at all and I'm not soured on anything. That is why I thought of having one at Jetero. I am so wound up about this that it killed me that I couldn't come to Nashville. If God don't call me home before then there ain't much that will keep me away from the Space City Fly In.

There are other CD's around that most likely would be glad to host the event. I believe that people who don't like this kind of event won't show up. Who was the CD at the Nashville event, a club member I would imagine? Don't they have more than one CD in their club? We do too.
All I'm trying to say is that this is a non problem. However, since there is already one scheduled at Space City, I can't imagine enough people wanting to make a second trip to Houston to warrant another event so close in time. So, all this has become a moot point.
Hell, I thought I had a really good idea and was all excited about it. Now I'm crushed, demoralized, disheartened, and just generally bummed out.

Oh Well, Lifes' a BITCH and then you die.
