Howdy, I am a student at UNC and I was wondering if there are ever any Pro Bro events in the area? I know there are a few clubs in Raleigh, but I don't know of any Pro Bro's around here. Thanks for any info ya'll may have.

Make one! If you belong to a club, just ask for a vote at your next meeting. The Pro-Bro's will help you out with the rest as far as what to do. If you create enough awareness about it through all your clubs then you'll get donations for prizes sent to you and from the hobby shops. It doesn't matter if there are many Pro-Bros in your area.

If enough brothers show an interest I will see if I can talk one of the clubs I am a member of into hosting a ProBro event near the coast of North Carolina. This would place it about half way between Raleigh, NC and the coast.

OK, Tenative plans are for June 5th and 6th we will announce the field shortly. We are thinking of charging a small landing fee to cover the cost of Burgers, Dogs and Soft drinks. Alex and I are working some companys for donations for a raffle and I will also build and donate a Pro-Bro Profile spad. Hopefully we will have 5 or 6 planes to give away. Billy, how about donating a couple shirts and hats to the cause.

It is official- We will have the 1st anual NC Pro Bro Fly In on June 5 & 6 in Boone NC- It will be sponsored by the Watauga Aero Modelers- Camping is available on site- There can be NO open fires or Alcohol at the request of the land owner- grills are OK- Also all flying must stop at 10pm-
There are multiple hotels within 5 minutes of the field and also restaurants within walking distance of the hotels- Boone is the home of ASU so there is plenty to do at night- there is also a movie theatre across the street from one of the hotels- in the same shopping center there is a mexican rest., CiCi's Pizza, Jersey Mike's Subs, Lowe's Food's etc......
The field is all grass and there are no rules except to keep everyones safety in mind- There will be a $5 landing fee that will cover drinks,burgers, hot dogs, etc..... whatever is left over will go to the club- If anyone has any questions feel free to email me or call- I will post a flyer and detailed directions as soon as possible- thanks

So, is the fun fly in Boone still on? I have not heard anything about it in a long while and I have been flyin' with the guys in the club up there, since I am a member of it and all, and they haven't said anything about it either. Just wondering.

I do'nt really know what happened, Alex told me that there was a rumor going around Joe Nall that it was cancelled and now the club president is'nt returning his calls. he's pretty upset about it.

we allow any type of flying. there are lots of us out here that hover TR and all the like. we don't mind a bit. last year we hosted a probro and our field and had a great turn out. i had posted something about doing anohter but seems like everyone was having them everywhere else and weren't many open times or enough interest in this area any more for one.
