Pro Bro at Hodges Hobbies in GA

***PRO BRO EVENT at Hodges Hobbies ... Report This Post | (Post No. 1)

Me and my newly converted Pro Bro Buddy have been talking and have asked Mac Hodges of Hodges Hobbies in Andersonville Georgia if he would be interested in letting us host a Pro Bro Fly-In at his field.
We are thinking of having the event in Feb 2005.
Obviously Valentines day is not a good weekend but maybe the week after, your sweeties should be all buttered up to let you go by then.
The only thing around this time frame is the Perry Southeastern Model Show (First week in March. Big Flea Market at the Georgia Nat. Fair Grounds)
Please give your input of what you think and how many of you would be interested in attending.
If you never heard of Mac or his field it's a treat, it's about the only place you can go and fly and shop at the same time. (Why do I feel this is perfect combination for PRO BRO's)
This is the same place that holds the SEFF, War birds, Competition Fun Fly/Combat/IMAC/Pattern and Helicopter Events as well as a Spring and Fall Hodges Specific Fly In events.
He now has Electrical hookups for RVs (for Fee of course) and allows camping at his field as well.

This is not Mac's idea either, just a buddy (Scooter) and mine that have asked to use his field for an event like this.

hey , Andy, I'm trying to break away RCUSUCKS...but I would be interested in a Pro Bro at macs, like the sunday after Perry, make it a one day Pro Bro, or one day "whatever",,that would probably get alot of people at macs. I never been to macs, but I suppose just from some of the other stuff I heard about it it could handle the traffic. And I dont just mean PB's, they'res all kinds of folks that would come from the swap meet to the fly-in, from FF to wabirds to CL.....

Unfortunately I posted this on RCU before I realized what was going on, so I will be updating both here and there. Freedom does have a meaning here on the PROBRO Site!
If you guys think we would get a descent turn out on sunday I'll see what I can suggest. The only reason I would say no is becuase that weekend seems to be plagued with real BAD weather in the past years, plus Mac's shop is cleaned out for the Perry Event as well as normally closed on Sunday. Mac is also about 45 minutes from the Perry Fair grounds as well.
BUT if you Just want to get together as a BUNCH of BRO's on SAT afternoon/evening and Sunday my flying field (DIXIE AEROMASTERS) is right up the road from the Flea Market a few miles off I-75! What do you all think? Of course I'd have to get my clubs approval first.
Buy, sell then fly after the flea Market....
So many possibilities with this, I'd like to hear more input on Gators suggestion!!!

I haven't put it on the Calendar yet, still trying to figure out what's best. Shoot I was thinking since some of you are down that way in March I wouldn't mind getting with you guys for mini pro bro at my field.
I will continue discuss having a full blown Pro Bro at a better time at Mac's. I think it would be a perfect place!
More later gotta get off work and go finish putting my Katana P together...
Oh I've removed the Blip on RCU about this altogether for now (Gee I wonder why!!!!) and will post all comments and updates here. When I get a firm grip on this I will then update the events thread.
