Himaxx 2015-4100, 3S Lipo, CC P-10, 6.60:1 gear, 12x6 prop, JR R-600rx, and four HS-55s.
I even have the stock landing gear on it.
I'm changing the rx out to a Hitec Electron this week, saving a fraction of an ounce. For batts, I have two Kokam 1500s and one Tanic 830. The Tanic is 2+ ounces lighter, and handles the 10A current just fine. Flight times are, of course, about half as with the 1500.
My CG is about 1/2 an inch back from recommended, and could easily go to 3/4 back.
The heli was about 4 or 5 feet away, but it's hard to tell. We were about 20 feet high. I told him just to hover as best he could (fairly new heli guy), and I'd slide into the shot. The Tribute was shaking pretty hard, and it wouldn't have been safe to get much closer. No sense in making it snow any sooner than necessary.
Yeah, you could have been a total dumbass like me and asked Stanoo to do your Sharpie Coat job. Mine did turn out original, with a turd on the rudder and all. Good ol' Stanoo.... 8)
tail twister, on your himax, whats the mounting plate look like ,lm doing the same setup on the e-flite bipe. l'll have to fab a washer to fit in the gear housing. thanks Will
No mount plate. I have a pal here with the E-flite one and I don't care for it.
I had to Dremel out the opening a bit, then screw the motor in. There are several rubber "O" rings on the motor can that keep it solid in the gear box housing. I found them at the local hardware store in the sink aisle.
