Got the Knife built today and she looks sweet. Not completely finished yet but getting there. Need to install the radio, battery, muffler, and hook up the pull pull cables and she will be ready to fly. As it sits she tips the scales at a very dainty 3 lb 8 oz. Should come out just over 4 lb. Can't wait to give her a good flying and see if the rumors about the knife are true. With the wing on this thing a .15 should be able to fly her. I got a GMS 47 on it and it will pull stumps. Oh, and I got to add a few more stickers to the wing bottoms.

Looks Very Nice, nice stars, are you from Texas too?
I think about 4 lb 8 oz or so dressed out, It will/should fly great!!!
Very nice looking bitch! How did the Stang do?
Thanks for the compliments. She turned out really nice. I like the lines a lot. Hope it flies like the ads say it will. Today is Old Farts Day at the club so I got to go eat breakfast with them and then go fly so the Knife will have to wait until tonight to get her radio and P/P wires hooked up. Should have her ready for flight testing tomorrow.

The Mustang is another matter altogether. I put a new OS 46 AX in her nose and that thing is awesome. After a few unsuccessful attempts at landing this rocket, I finally discovered the secret. Mix Flaperons in with elevator and she settles in like a litte dainty trainer. Ha Ha Ha! This is soooooo much fun. This Mustang flies like FAN FUKIN TASTIC! Now I know why the pilots liked her so much during WWII. Mean ass machine.
The climbing slow rolls following a hi speed lo pass are something to see. I could almost hear the 50's rattlin'.
Glad to hear things are going good then. So you're an old fart? Well dont worry, someday you will grow up to be a turd.
I really liked my Knife. I flew it the most out of all my birds. I was looking at it hanging on the wall the other day and thought I should break her back out. She deserves the proper death and not just hanging on a wall.
Thanks for the vote of confidence. Is there a prerequisite for becoming a turd? How do I know if I have made it? And YES, I'm an old FART and loving it. I do however hate all these oyung punks with the good reflexes and eyesight. They piss me off with all their showing off and excellently performed maneuvers. GGGGGrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Billy Hell:
I have heard the the Knife is a real good performer and I can't wait until I get off my ass and get mine finished. Still dragging my feet on it. Started installing the radio equipment last night, got tired and gave up.
She's sitting there on the bench in the garage patiently waiting for my sorry ass to show back up. I need a Red Foreman.
Flew the Mustang and the TopCap some more today and had a ball. I'm either getting to understand the dynamics about hovering or the RC Gods are smiling on me a little bit. I can ctually hover the TopCap a bit and even did ONE Torque Roll today before she fell out on me. Still can't make it flat spin for shit though. She will spin like crazy but can't get it to flatten out. Keep on trying..........
I have noticed that I'm starting to do really crazy stuff really close to the ground and she just pulls right out of it like it's nothing. I love a 2:1 power to weight ratio. Makes goofing up look like you did it on purpose. I landed once today across the runway, coming straight at me and it never rolled a foot. I've had a ton of guys come over and ask all kinds of questions about it and there is definitely some interest there. I guess $150.00 for a plane is a lot more interesting than $500.00.
Might even develop into a profile group in our club.
Where can one get a Knife??.. don't seem to remember seeing it anywhere...

Or at least as soon as I find time to do it!! :?

I just got my knife done last night, and maidened her today. Poor weather though, 50's-drizzle-windy 20+. I made two flights. Its hard to say much considering the conditions. The balance seemed good, I mounted my engine all the way back(os46ax) and it seemed to require no up when inverted. My cg is aprox 5". I use a kentucky mousse can pipe as well. Can't wait for better weather :D .

We're going to give you a brief exemption given the fact that your admitting to being an 'old fart. But you will only have a limited amount of time to come around before you loose the desire to fly the warbirds

Nahhh....just kidding. You can fly that Mustang.......just dont bring it to your first Pro-Bro

I think the 'Stang will be sitting for a while now.
Got the Knife finished and ready to fly tonight. Everythings hooked up and working in the proper direction and she's sorta balanced.
Whew!!!! Only took me about three weeks to git 'er done. Can't stand this fast pace. Now I can start on the Burrito, soon as I get the work bench cleaned off enough to spread the plans out.
Tomorrow is supposed to be clear and bright so looks like the Knife will be taking to the air. If it flies better than the TopCap, I'm gonna have a ball.

 jimross your killing me here

You build at my pace, oh okay maybe faster.

The knife looks great!
I know, I know, it's murder trying to keep up with all the planes I have to put together. Add flying time in there and I just don't have enough hours in the day. Oh yeah, there has to be some computer time thrown in too. A guy's gotta keep up with the latest news and reviews on all this stuff.
