I would have never guesed that i'ld enjoy this building thing so much. i was a dedicated arf man b4 this MOJO. i just wish that i wasnt so damned tired. Oh well. :p

I haven't had as much time to build as i want but i finally got the wing done and i've started on that fuse. Question, do i have to cut the glass tube. I assume so, as you can see in the pic its too long. how do i go about it.

by the way. i ran out of sheeting for some reason and didn't seem to have enough 1/4" sq. hardwood. thats ok though i do work in a hobby shop and all

anyway here's the pictures of so far. and now its bed time for fonzo(boy i must be really tired)

Looking good Man!

Sleep is overrated, so keep on building! You can always sleep later.
pretty good looking wing you got there!

Best way I know of to cut CF Tube is to wrap it with tape, mark the tape where you need to cut, hopefully in the middle of the tape, then you can use a razor saw or I use a dremel with a HOB cutoff wheel.
The 2inch cutoff's from House of Balsa are the best wheels I've found yet.
I cut just thru the tube then turn it, cut thru again and again until your all the way around. If you try to cut straight thru in 3 or 4 cuts it will end up crooked as hell. I'd rather make 7 or 8 small cuts and have a nice looking end then have something that looks like you cut it with a chainsaw.

and we're cool, now Vince you shut the hell up!
first build! nice job, your build area looks like a pro!
Yeah well, It sucks building on the floor. Kills my knees.

thanks for the comments.
Show Off!! :x
That looks awesome Fonz.... Nice work... Especially for being the first time building... I really love building too and I'm glad this is turning out to be a good experience for you.

Sorry about shorting you on the 1/4" sq hardwood and sheeting. There should have been a 24" piece of 1/4" sq basswood... 16" for the servo rails and 3" for the elevator joiner... That should give 5" extra... Did I miss something else?
Thanks Paul. I dont think anything else was short. You know, I could have just missed something. I'm almost positive that the 3'' piece wasnt there but then again i am buildimg in the middle of a huge mess.

Im getting along with the covering pretty well. got the bottom of the wing and ailerons. did a better job than i thought i would have. I'll post pics of my peogress b4 I go to bed.
Are you finished yet??? any pics?

Hey you forgot something

Looking great Fonz !!

I don't have all those fancy razor saws either, but a long time ago I found the best alternative. I have used a very fine toothed hack saw blade, by hand, for all my plane building needs. Holding it by hand, instead of putting it in a saw, let's you use very light pressure to get very precise cuts in soft balsa, as well as hardwood, and most recently, the glass formed tube in the Mojo.

I was also a bit short on some sheeting, some 1/4 balsa, and 1/4" hardwood, but I have three big boxes of balsa in the back room, and was able to get all I needed for the plane.
Paul,

The plans call for hardwood to be used for the rear servo rails also. Maybe that is where the shortage comes in.
