Yep, hopefully we'll have sun, definately will have fun! everything's still go on the event. Still have to line up manufacturer goods for raffle, will do it when I get back from nashville. the hovering playground will be in place; am planning on a harrier slalom course, kiddie pool dunking pond, and an inclined wall VTOL setup ( I hope that one works!) would like to set up a few balloon pop things, too. any other suggestions for fun stuff to do, let me know!

Well, that's lots of stuff. :eek: will there be any time/space for just plain flying? :wink: just kidding, sounds interesting.

oh, yeah! flying all day! I am just going to set some stuff up in the "helicopter area" off to the side of the flight line just to mess with. no organized events, just new ways to dump an airplane! you can see some pics of the field at www.propbustersrc.com as well as a map and stuff. a great flying site, flat and plenty of grass and overfly area. We are gonna cook, don't know for sure what yet, but we usually do barbque chicken. several motels close, will post phone #'s soon. econolodge closest, has pool and cracker barrel and waffle house across the street, 1 exit and about 4 miles from the field. gonna be a great time! see you guys at nashville this weekend!

latest update;
we are putting the electric area over to the side like nashville and cookeville was so they will be safe from midairs :D gotta run an impound as per club officers. got a certificate good for a 40 size omp product coming, some gift certificates from local shops, a foamie from hobby lobby, a new engine, and several other donations that haven't arrived yet, will list as they become availiable. will have to nix the "playground" idea as that's where we're setting up the electrics; the event is getting pretty big already :D Food is still not officially decided; am thinking chili and hotdogs as the preparation won't cut into our flying time much! no landing fee, and the usual charges for raffle tickets. pilot's meeting is at 9 a.m., but flying starts as soon as you can see daylight! :D basically rules are don't fly over the west swamp past white poles or behind the zero line. all combustion engine stuff use the pilot stations. mass hover is at 2 p.m. don't taxi or hover in the pits. That's about it!

am looking forward to seeing you all again, and hope you meet a lot of new faces!

yep, unfortunately I don't own the club and we have a neighbor on the west side that got pissed when some big gas jobs started flying the imac pattern over his house 1.000 feet away. But we are managing to keep the rules to a minimum. Our site is owned by the city, and they are really liability conscious. so we have to observe the no fly zone to keep the peace and not get kicked out!

at least we don't have to fly the "racetrack" pattern, like most of the lame fly ins! :D

shhh... I got the club guys fooled... fortunately the prez is cool; when the water dept. (which we both work for) put up a new well and pumphouse near the flight line and the duffers started complaining about it, that's what he said- "we oughta paint a bullseye on it!" :D

and on the serious side, for all the shit we try, I would say that as a group the probros are the safest bunch I've ever flown with. We just had a guy almost hit the shelter, then yesterday he lost it on takeoff and hit the runway inverted; I guess the lt40 with a 52 4 stroke was a lottle too high performance. got another who hit the shelter with his car when he pulled up, then got out and crashed his plane...I really don't worry about any of the bros losing it and hitting me at 80 mph when I'm flying; they are competent pilots. the worst they do is midair me on occasion :shock:

This is going to be a great time. Ron has put a lot of effort into organizing this thing, I hope all you guys can make it. January is coming fast make those arrangements to come down now. We are mowing some extra space for primitive camping if anyone wants to stay at the field.

guys, here is the main raffle prize; a custom built burrito. new fx. tower muff. haven't got the servos in yet, but will be new 322hd's. weight right now, no radio gear is just under 3 lb., should be less than 4 all up.

how about the custom flame job? 8)

the winner just has to put a receiver, battery, and switch in it and go fly.

does that make anyone wanna come down? :lol: hell, I'd like to win that myself!

I don't know why the preview pix are the same; if you click on them, there is a front and rear view, but the previews show the same pix! I dunno, but check out both!
