OK guys I am working on building a OMP 540 and have the fuse and most of the wing built, but now here is my delima -- I am new to 3D and do not really want to mash up a plane I just slaved to build (actually hasn't been that bad to build but still) -- so the wife says I can get an ARF profile (yes I am whipped also -- but if I ask her it makes her feel like she is in control -- If she says NO --then I just wait for my next expense check from work and get what I want anyway --LOL) -- Anyway enog with the babling -- I want to get a ARF profile and was wondering what you guys think is a good one -- I have looked at the Morris ones, but do not really want to jack with PULL-PULL stuff (had a bad experience with one in the past) -- The LHS has a CG Extreme 540 in stock -- I have read some articles on it and can't really seem to find any reviews on it as far as flight -- Have seen lots about "Oh its 5+ pounds" and what not but thats about it -- Give me your input on what you (the experienced) would get for a first time profile/3D'er.

You should try a SPAD3D to get your feet wet in 3D.
It will take a lickin' and keep on tickin'.
When you get the hang of it then move to your 540.
See the free plans at www.spadtothebone.com
I love the Knife and the pull-pull isn't that bad. I flew the 330 arf and it felt good. Hobby Lobby has an arf coming in March and it is the shit. It weighs 4.5lbs loaded. You may not be able to wait. I will always tell people to a Knife I love mine.
PS - Hey, I said shit and no one is going to delete it. cool.
Keep me posted on that -- I could wait -- Have a super sportster that is NIB I am going to put together to get reaqainted with air stuff -- been boating for a year -- while it was cool for a few minutes -- all I can say now is "been there done that --won't again--LOL"
You can not go wrong with the BURRITO Builds easy and flys great..Better than the Knife In My Opinion Ohh.. IMO.. SHIT this is cool.. B Bill
Holy Shit guys (LOL) now you got me all confused ---HAHAHA -- Wow this is great -- I wonder what other words a person can get away with here

I just bought a Sledge 540 with a Saito 72 off of RCU -- so that will be my 3D learner -- Hope it holds together -- if not I have the OMP 540 in the bones now -- just got to decide on the color scheme

SHAMELESS PLUG

Check out the new .40 sized Edge ARF from Extreme Flight RC.
Not available right now but will be VERY shortly. (Just a few weeks away)

I guarantee you havent seen construction like this on an ARF EVER!

Phenolic motor mount! No more soft, weak mounts.

Videos of it and more info here.

Bill - At least it wasn't one of the ones we built..... :D
You know the saying about guns, well, the only way you'll get my Sledge from me is by prying it from my cold, dead fingers (or something like that!!)

JW
Well I didn't have to pry it from his cold dead fingers -- just place quite a few Uncle Ben's in his hand and he let go of it right away -- LOL

I am very surprised he sold it also -- the plane is absolutely amazing -- all is straight and square, and the covering (although yellow is not my favorite color) is perfect. He said he was just going strictly gas powered planes (and that was the only reason for getting rid of it). I got the (used but in good shape) rolled plans for it and the instruction book that came with it. The saito looks like it is new (previous owner said less than 2 galllons through it).

This is my first profile plane -- I flew it yesterday (no 3D stuff) and all I can say is WHAT A BLAST -- I have never seen a plane land so slow in my life -- Kind of reminded me of the landing I do with my park flyer

You'll just laugh when you see sledge # 2 that I'm almost finished covering. At a glance, it looks almost identical to yours. I posted Sledge #1 on RCU / pro bro forum under "my new Sledge". I got a digital camera yesterday, but I'm not the most educated guy on uploading to web sites.

Damn -- you were right --real close --except mine doesnt have the really cool flag on the bottom--- I uploaded the pics from RCU to my webserver and linked them to here for you.

But I think the saito 72 vs the TT46 almost makes up for it-- not quite though

Popular color scheme I see ---
That's #1. #2 is much more similar. I'm trying to figure out how to post the pic.
John for right now you must have the picture hosted somewhere else -- Billy is working on getting a Gallery setup for this site -- but for now pictures must be hosted somewhere else and linked to the posts --
Thanks, I'll watch and post the pics when I can do it. I have lots of pics of my 3D planes.
