how to best control or avoid torque rolls?

hey guys,

as most of you annoyingly know i am working on my burrito.
To prepare myself for the burrito i have been flying an OMP 54" edge in AFP.
Now i know when i will attempt to hover the burrito there will be a natural torque roll that will happen.

How can i avoid this will a 3 degree or so left thrust help this ?
how can i try to lessen it when i put my engine on the burrito.
any other clues or ideas. i might be totally wrong but the omp bird in AFP doesnt torque roll at all it'll hover normal all day..thats not how planes really are ? are they?

thanks for taking time for the noob.

Well the OMP birds in AFP have been toned down a little bit if you can put it that way. But then again in the same breath my OMP 47" Yak doesn't TR alot. It has to be perfectly vertical or well in the sweet spot before she starts rolling. With most of the profiles you will be able to counter the torque with the ailerons. Most of them even have enough aileron to do a anti torque roll. And if you're worried too much that it'll catch you out the first couple of times first try hovering in the wind. The wind will force the plane to not TR. Don't worry i'm sure with the burrito you'll have enough aileron to counter it all the times untill you get convident enough to let her do her thang!
Spacey hit it right on the head. Profiles are more difficult than other planes to TR because their sweet spot for rolling is so small. If you hover into the wind this will help as well. The higher the wind the less straight up and down you can be to maintain a hover in one spot. If you don't keep you nose into the wind your plane will bow with the wind and it will drift. It's pretty cool too but for starters point your nose into the wind. If there is no wind well, just hover anywhere!

And the best way to learn to TR a plane is the sim, followed by a foamie!
And don't go and put left thrust in a plane! You'll most likely need two washers under the front engine lug for some right thrust. The good news is this the burrito is one of the most stable planes in a hover!

right you wont want left thrust just some right and use aileron... wait somebody already said that...
Oh yeah, a hover in the wind with no ground speed is really a harrier but we wont get technical, i find that the larger 65" yak in AFP flyes more like the 46 size, things get weird for small planes in afp, some people screw with the time compression to get it more real, slower for small faster for large..

did you say you want some right thrust instead of left?
i got confused when i read your post

if so how much..

Felix, you just need a washer or 2 under the front 2 engine bolts.
It doesn't take much to tweak your thrust line..
On my Burrito I tried two washers and had to take one out it seems the Burrito doesn't need as much as other planes because my other profiles have two.

Yes, you will need right thrust, 2 washers as has been stated will do it usually. If you don't, you'll be constantly correcting yaw from pfactor (different than what makes you TR) with the rudder. Best case you'll pull up into a hover and no rudder correction will be needed, but you'll never have best case.

Just to re-iterate, it's ailerons that will counter the TR ( that would be right aileron). Engine thrust will affect yaw (as opposed to roll).

PS I know that's over simplifies guys, don't split hairs. :p
My burrito had two washers. All my profiles have two washers, as I set them up when building that way. I never mess with it after that unless it way off, and it never has been. :?

With the way you fly you'd never know anyway!!!
