Man am I in love with this electric, I knew I shouldn't have done it!!!!

Anyway, I went to order more Depron, no 6 mil white at all. Any other sources yet besides Depron USA? Anybody tried Zepron? And does anyone have any they don't need? Maybe I could pick it up in Houston?

There is DepronAlaska.com but I think he might be out. Might give him a holler, Leonard is his name. AKFlyer on the boards.

I bought like 10 sheets and used it up, went to order more and it was on backorder for like a month, so I ordered 20 sheets. Got to figuring I didn't want to run out so I ordered 20 more sheets. I loaned 10 sheets to a model designer who ran out, he's gonna have 10 sheets drop shipped to me when it comes in.

I could bring a few sheets to Houston, but I don't want to part with a very big chunk of my stash..

Well Chucky, if you can part with a couple that's great. If not, I understand. I'll wait. I wish I could use the blue stuff, I just have a hangup with the looks and texture. from what I've seen, it flies just as well.

I just ordered about $50 worth of depron from this place: http://www.aerocompositedesign.com/Products/Depron_Foam/depron_foam.html and I'll report on their service. I know edgerc has depron blocks, but i didnt find anywhere that had depron AND carbon, except this place which looks foreign and shady: http://www.rcspecialties.biz/index.php

so next up I need carbon. I need whatever tubes and rods im going to use to make, say, 5 foamies (or whatever will match up with 8 sheets of 3mm and 6 sheets of 6mm) and also I'd like some tows and weave cloth for building strong planes. does chuckauger sell that stuff still or am I confusing you with someone else? anyone know good sources for carbon? swany?

oh and from reading the zepron page at whatever that site is, it seems to be LIKE depron but not as stiff, so it's used as sheeting and making curved things, rather than flat plate stuff. I submit that its not suitable for flat plate 3d foamies, unless you wanted to make like a full-fuse yak or something.

All I sell is .007" X .25" unidirectional CF PrePreg. Hard, stiff, flat ribbon with no adhesive. It is really of limited use on foamies (you CAN use it, but it's really a labor of love and not very crash resistant...) but I'm using the heck out of it in re-inforcing balsa structures. Makes a stick of 1/4" sq balsa stiffer than spruce and weighs maybe 1g more (that the balsa stick)...

airdyn (nyblimp) is currently down until they catch up on orders, site says it'll be maybe a month. so thats a no go.

still waiting on some orders i made at the beginning of last week, but im trying to work up an order for CF rods/tubes for foamies and perhaps for spars, and some CF ribbon for regular balsa building. maybe some weave for making cute hatches. so im looking for a place that has it all.

chucky- thats kinda what im looking for... if its pre-preg does it need to be heat cured, or will just running a little CA or epoxy in it do the trick?

CA will stick to it as well as it does to human skin :D So does epoxy. It has a release "shine" to it, it will stick a lot better if you scuff the shine off with some sandpaper, I just hit it with some cheap open-coat garnet 120 grit.

now, PLEASE don't tell my girlfriend I spent fifty bucks on foam!

You won't have to worry. The story we will tell your girlfriend about how you spent that 50 bucks will not involve styrofoam.

A weedeater, a live chicken and some peach perserves will be included in the story though!

i think she might roll her eyes and say "well, as long as it wasn't on more airplanes. or video games."

so out of my guilt I traded in a bunch of nintendo games and bought her one she had been eyeing. I then proceeded to play it for like 8 hours.

i <3 her!
