Foamy won't TR

I'm having a hell've time Torque Rolling my Shocky...

I can sit there and hover it till the batteries go dead but it just won't TR. I'm sitting there looking for the sweet spot, back and forth, up and down, but it must be mighty small sweet spot. I've only been able to find it like twice.

Is this because its so light that its sweet spot is affected by the smallest wind and breeze? Or, is there something else wrong?

Any ideas...?

try starting it with left aileron. I usually hold aileron in to make it super fast. "Fake Torque Roll" as it were.
Yeh, I have been trying that the last couple of times...but its quite hard to hover with aileron. It seems to add drag to the prop blast and it simply falls out of hover completely instead of rolling.

I know this will work no problem with my Edge. In fact, the sweet spot on my edge is huge. The air coming off that little AXI is significantly less.

Well, your aileron servos may be sucking some current and dropping the power to your motor a tad. You have to find the "sweet spot" first then help it with the ailerons. You'll always have to use your ailerons in a hover.

The more prop wash, the better. That's all that your control surfaces have to go off of. Just keep hacking away at it.
I don't know what motor your running but I'd try a prop first.
If your using say a 10x4.7, see if your motor can handle an 11x4.7..
The extra diameter will help you move more air over your surfaces and will increase the torque load.
Just be carefull you don't overdue it, things will heat up if you do.
If your running a gearbox go to a larger gearing and increase prop size as well. The more air you can move the better...
