I got my first solid hover in the other day, im very proud of myself! then i went for a second, and fell out of it, and was low and wound up pancaking the landing gear. this Katana P arf is stronger than I thought it would be!

here's my thousand yard stare: notice the bent up LG.

next plane? heck, when i finish the sig ultimate i have on the building board, I'll have three profiles! It just took until this week to get one flying reliably enough to get some good practice in. between motor problems, vibration problems, and crashes, i dont think i got more than 2 profile flights in in a day this summer until this week.

but, uh, yeah, this winter I'll be getting something of swany's I think.

You really need to pull the covering off and take a look at that! I dont think it would be that hard to fix!Mine got all fucked up last weekend.... to the point I usualy wouls just pull the goods and toss the rest. Picked up all my little pcs. and in one or two more nights it will be done( just have to finish the wing ). :D Looks like your fuse broke in the same places as mine.
BTW congrats on the hover! :D

Few minutes later......
<Dr. Swany>

Nurse scrub my starfish and start a Thin CA drip on that bird. I'll need some new #11 blades and some popsicle sticks. Make sure we have enough clear tape when it's time to close back up. Oh, and call my Bro's! Tell 'em I'm in surgury but I'll be there soon for some sack detaching.......Now let's get to work!

uhh, thats an aging 46FX '02 vintage, turning an apc 11.5x4 i forgot the rpm measurement. previously i had an mvvs on it and may again. it comes in just as light as other profile arfs.

im happy with it cause i wanted something cheap that i wouldnt be afraid to fly real low with.

Glue it back together!! It won't be as pretty as before it got it's cherry popped, but you won't feel nearly as bad about crashing it. I crashed my Sledge so many times I finally had to just section out about 10" behind the wing and put in some non-crashed wood 8) Looking at it now, You can hardly tell it's been rebuilt at all (but I do my hovering practice with an EF or foamy :wink: ).

And man I'm glad I'm not a nurse...first time somebody told me to scrub Swany's starfish, I'd puke or quit. :shock:

Yeh, that looks like it broke where they glued it together. The bad thing is they don't use real glue over there in Asia....they use a glue gun.

Good thing is that the hot glue breaks off with your finger nails typically without taking any wood and you can replace it with real glue.
