I'd like to hear what circle flyers say about flying 3d at your local fly spot.

It well help us reinforce why we are a group.

Here I'll start:

Old codger: To those who want to hover their plane here at my {intentional emphasis added} field, get a damn helicopter.
get off the runway by circle flyer pro wtf you blind my wing is only 48 inch theres 320 feet left
Man...I guess Ive been lucky enough that the ohh's and ahh's over my style of flying has overshadowed the circle flyers and they have remained quite for the most part. They see that there are more people attracted to this hobby by the 3D style of flying nowwa days than there is from circle flying and they dont want to be the ones bitching when the peanut gallery is clapping
Circle Flyer:

Airplanes weren't meant to do that stuff, so why do you insist on flying that way? You'll never catch me doin that stuff!
Tailspnr said it just like it is at my field. They even gave me some fairly nice spots at the far (and I mean far) ends of the field, behind the runway, to hover and do the fun stuff.

I can't complain, but there are one or two really old codgers that bitch underneath their breath. The 3D style has started to come on strong, as they can clearly see when they open a magazine and view all of the "3D" planes for sale in the ads. :)

I say....GET USED TO IT, TIMES ARE UUU CHANGIN' !!!

They made me fly in the heli area because it was distracting other pilot. When landing is called I get out of the way and same with taking off and everthing, but they still insist on making me fly eleswhere. Accually they too away 3D plane from out Fun Flyes because they kept on beating out the old guys. havent they herd of "flying ability"
Three in a circle said,
snicker snicker with snide look,
"oh you are one of those" snicker snicker you jerk look

This is what they said at a fun fly so everyone could hear, so flew a demo over the luch break they now know I am on of those for sure they left the field and did not fly. "It's to windy" one winned and the other 2 nodded.
No balls!
I let my "ugly flat not a real plane" do the talking for me.

Man I loved it
The best line I have gotten from a circle flyer was this:

"It looked like you were out there scratching your knees with the rudder!"

WTF could I say?? And yes I have been told to buy a helicopter hundreds of times. Mostly just in fun though! :D
Maybe Ive been lucky but Ive never had any complaints at the fields I fly at. Most of the guys like to watch. I do know some are concerned about planes on the runway at times but they arent going to make an issue of it if everybody is happy.
ive been told that hovering a heli is easyer too but it was in fun also, sometimes its nice to here from the circles wives " my god i never saw flying like that before! it was wonderfull, thank you for the show!"

last time i flew at a real club field i was yelled at for flying too close to the flightline, intimidating another pilot, landing too close to the flightline, being out of control... i guess that to him a rolling circle 5' off the deck is out of control and a harrier landing is rekless and that a 24oz electric is intimidating when in a highalfa KE what a ***. the same guy was shot out of the sky cause he didnt get his freq pin, not by me either...***
I always hear the "head" old timer explaining to other people when I fly that I program all that stuff on switches cuz I have one of those "new" computer radios". Not that he's trying to be an ass, just grossly uninformed. He also can't figure out why his Kraft RX keeps getting hit. Oh, and he thinks he's crazy cuz I'm not "using the reciever that came with my radio" Hey, he's been doing this for 40 years! He knows what he's talking about! (People always go to him for advice)

thats my fav :D
Yah, the circle flyers in my club had a few words about 3D flying. Even brought it up at a club meeting. Wanted to bring up a motion for rules against that type of flying.

As VP of the club........ I said that I represent the club and will enforce the rules. Make up new rules, so that all you could do was circle flying and I will enforce that too.

But what is the club gonna do, when the 3D flyers leave along with the dues they pay? What ya gonna do, when it comes time to pay the $14,000.00 lease payment, and we don't have enough dues paying members to cover it?

Better to make room for the 3D flyers, just like we had to make room for the big birds years ago. Or like the helicopters recently. I think there is room for everybody. The clubs bottom line, is that WE NEED "those" 3D flyers to survive as a club. THAT IS MY OPINION, and sat down.

Motion died............ 30 against, 2 for.
Money talks.

There was one "give-away". 3D pilots can't hover their planes close to other circle pilots. Couldn't fight this one.

The non-3D pilots where I fly leave me completely alone when I fly.

I actually get decent support and approval. Several guys are trying 3D now, who weren't flying 3D when I showed up.

It's okay to be butt ugly as long as you have a nice tool
well, i'v been pretty lucky at my club. Most guys just encorage that type of flying (cause it builds your skills). I use to get the comment "nice show" or "show me how you did that". But its been a couple of years since iv gotten any comments like that form flyers (they are use to me flying my a$$ off every flight now :D ) I must say that Iv been doing harcore aerobatics and 3d for many years now.
