I'd go with the .46. The extra weight of the 61 up front would not be a good thing. I flew an OMP FF540 for 2 years until recently, when it was killed in a midair. I had a 46 on it. Great combo.

60 on a OMP Edge?
Anyone installed a 60 on an OMP edge 540? I have a NIB older ringed supertigre 61 and a TT 46 that I could install on the plane. The TT 46 weighs 1lb and the 61 weighs 1lb 7 oz. Which engine do you guys think I should install? I'm leaning toward the 61, but I just thought I would ask for opinions.

Go with the .46 ....thats almost a half lb different.....makes a big dif on a small plane like that.
Yeah I think you guys are right. I had a knife with a ST 45 on it and it had plenty of power with an apc 11x4. Thanks a lot I appreciate the info.
I've done made that mistake of putting a 60 size engine in a 40 size profile. Flew great but It glided like a brick compared to when It was using a 46....
I definately have to agree on this one.... Going too big on motor shoots the rest of the planes performance all to hell....
Put down the 60 and back slowly away. Then pick up the 46 and proceed with assembly. By the time you add lead in the tail to balance, bigger fueltank, etc, etc that plane would probably be close to 1 lb heavier flying weight. Wingloading shot all to hell.
Ok I will put the 60 back in the box for another day! Seriously though I really appreciate the advice. I figured somebody would talk me out of it. Thanks again!

55" wing span... 1000 sq in. of wing area.... Same moments as the MoJo, just bigger... I hope it'll come in under 5 1/2 lbs....
