4* 40

You're never going to believe this...

I had the opportunity to buy a second hand kit of a fourstar 40 as second plane. The guy from who I could get it took it on its zundapp home from its field. At a speeding control, 2 wires above the asphalt here, the kit falls from his zudapp. Then the bus riding behind him rides over my precious kit... Totally destroyed. I was really looking forward to get it and build it.

Ok now I'm going to get the burrito immediatly

I believe this to be a message from the profile gods!
O don't say that about the 4*40. That's one of the best planes out there (that's not a profile that is) This was one of the first airplanes i started doing stupid stuff with before i got into profiles.

I take my hat off for a moment of silence for your ROAD KILL! But hey it is flat like a profile NOW!

Your 4 Star kit isn't destroyed......the kit just became more complex.

Here's a link to a video of a hovering 4 Star:

When I've had a long day and I really don't care about much, I'll fly my ole 4*. After I've smacked my bitch around a little, I usually feel worthy to fly my profiles again and regain my self respect. It's not a bad plane, but it's not a profile and it will never say. "Pro Bro" on it.
I've been getting nutsier with my Pizazz for the past few days. Lots of elevator and rudder throw and a GMS 47 on the nose. Must have it propped wrong though cause it don't want to hold a hover for long. I can get it to stay there for about five seconds then she just falls out. Come across the field real slow pull hard up and take throttle to full and then back down a bit and she just parks there for a minute.
What prop can I use to make her pull better in a hover? Running 11X7 APC now.
Try a 12x4 or a 11.5x4 APC .....you love how much better it feels. :D
Try to get at least 45% of throw on your rudder an elavater as well.
12.25x3.75 works well on it too. Thats what I have on my 4*, but it's there for other reasons lol. I have the same motor... junk when they're new, but once broken in I've been very impressed with it.

I almost committed stupidity when I first got both of my GMS 47's. They were so tight at the top I started to go to the parts house and buy a cylinder hone. Luckily some good people on another web site, which I am not allowed to mention the name, stopped me and told me how to break them in. After about a gallon of fuel through each one they run like wild ass monkeys. I learned a valuable lesson about ABC engines. There is another one out there that is not given much credit, the MDS engines. I was GIVEN one because it would not run. It does now. MDS 48 is one of my stronger engines in that size.

  Thats very colorful 8)
That's pretty close to what I said. Fact is, they run good. Too bad the damned pilot don't do as well or I would still have my Pizazz today.
How do y'all like my laughing pig? Wife sent that to me.
Dude, that pig is some funny shit!!

I love it. :tu: [/quote]
