Downthrust or sidethrust? - Sabre35ES

PostPosted: Tue Feb 28, 2017 6:34 pm

I am building a Sabre 35ES. I am using an EMAX2218/11 motor. In the manual it says, The assembly is slightly off-center for the motor offset. I m thinking of just mounting the motor without sidethrust or downthrust. Does any one have any guidance for me on this issue?

Zero Down and zero right are fine. Especially if your swinging a 10" prop. But if you do add some don't go any more than 2* either way. And it can always be added later with washers behind the motor X mount.

Ditto to what Jake said.

Zero downthrust.
Zero right thrust.

It's better to have a little right thrust than any amount of left thrust.
