Well Value Hobby is trying to jerk me around  They really should be sending me a replacement wing because mine was damaged in shipping. A replacement wing is 72 bucks on their website. I told them refund 60 and I will repair the wing and save the cost of shipping the wing back and forth and hoping the next one isn't broke. The reply was thats way to much money we will give you 15 for a roll of covering. To fix it right all the covering needs to be taken off the top of the left wing panel from the center line to the tip. The ribs repaired and then recovered. Other wise you end up with a patch in the middle of the wing which is ugly as hell especially on a brand new plane. I have Ultracote white sitting at my house but its a couple of shades different than the covering on the plane. So to do it right I need 3 rolls of covering at 15 bucks a roll plus who knows how many hours to strip the covering off, fix the ribs and then recover it. I am just a wee bit irritated right now.

What did plane smashers say about it?

I haven't contacted the package smashers yet, I figured Value Hobby would take care of the problem. Now I am left with deal with the package smashers, fight and argue with value hobby, file a paypal dispute, or others means to get satisfaction. Its the principal of it that is really getting under my skin. You can bet your ass if the plane came from Horizon Hobby one quick email or phone call and the problem would be resolved PERIOD. Value Hobby doesn't value their customers nearly as much as Horizon does.

That's true but you also don't pay three times what stuff is worth at VH.
Not defending them on this but Horizon service IS something you pay extra for up-front.

I know you pay more for the service that Horizon provides but I even offered to keep the damaged wing for a discount. I didn't demand a new wing like I should have. I would say that is a very fair offer on my part. In return basically get told to screw off

Man, I have nothing but good things to say about Alex.
At one point, when I got the G160 from him I told him I didn't like how the windings on the motor look.
His response was: send it back and I'll ship you a replacement one...
Guess what, he shipped the replacement motor before I even got a chance to send him the "bad" one.

I had a problem with my sabre 56. The wing tube was poorly glued and the wings failed, He offered me a deal on a NIB ARF that was so low I dare not mention it here. It was a one off problem but I fixed it and told him about it. He said the offer still stood. I trashed the plane after and dont feel like I can take him up on it any more but it was way beyond what he should have done.

Gotta say, I never had a pink snowsuit, but did have a Jet Ski with some hot pink on it... :rolleye:

Issue is resolved to my complete satisfaction. I am keeping the plane at a discounted price and will fix the damage. That is all I had wanted to begin with. Thumbs up for taking care of the problem Value Hobby.
