Kalteisen KX2

Been outta the game for a while due to back surgery and havent given much of a crap about airplanes lately but this little plane has put some sparkle back in my eye. Can anyone give me some ideas on cost effective (cheap) engine -battery combos

Guess I was thinking the emax 15 would be enough. It states up to 59 amps. Dont know what a G25 is, Sounds like your recommending the next size up?

I finally plugged mine in to a watt meter,.... hit a peak burst of 697 watts 69 amps at 11.0v...... well that's what Wulfie's watt meter told me,... I don't know shit tho. If I let it level off at WOT it hovered around 650-660 watts.

That's with a Hacker A-30-10xl (900kv) on 3s 3200mah with a 15x8 prop. On the price thing, the hacker is the spendy part,... go with the Valuehobby motor and save some :cash:

I"m going to be putting my 30-12xl (770kv) in it and stepping up to 4s with a 14x7 prop. That setup on my ChYakk was Pulling 647 watts at WOT,... It'd do real nice I think

Heh,... Could be worse,.... 1/2 your fleet is Q planes,..... 3/4 of my fleet is Quicker birdy's,... and solid 1/2 of it's CRASHED!!!!

I liked Prowler's statement's when he flew this thing,.....

"I feel dirty" just before taking off,... I know what he feels like,.. it's NOT a profile,.. and it almost feels dirty to get your thumbs into a fat girl!

After landing tho,... I could have sworn I heard "That's the best flying FATTY I've flown!" :D

I finally got my KX2 done and have a few flights on it now. I'm still getting used to it but I'm likeing it a lot. Kinda wish it had a bit more power, definately not Brover powered but is 3Dable but you have to be really careful.

Set up is Dual Sky 3548CA-5T motor with Dual Sky XC4018BA ESC, APC 12x6 E prop pulling just over 40 amps from Hyperion 4 cell 2500 batteries.

Too bad this one went unobtanium so quickly, I think it had some real promise.

Yup, side yard. It's how I found electric power, just big enough to be comfortable for this size and smaller. I absolutely love to be able to come out just before dark when it is calm and go through a battery or three.

Thanks for the compliments on the covering. I just sit and look at a naked airframe and start covering comming up with a scheme on the fly. They always come out better when I don't have a clue in the beginning. Not talented enough to plan ahead but just talented enough to keep going until it looks right.

Mine's still in the box. :( I barely get time to fly much less build these days.
