EVO caps and edges - gauging interest

EVO caps and edges - gauging interest

PostPosted: Mon Oct 19, 2015 10:18 pm

Thinking about a kit run. Anyone interested? Would be both caps and edges. $150+ shipping unless prices on any materials have gone way up. Edges will be semi-prototype since the new fuse construction will not have been tested so know that ahead of time. Shouldn't be an issue but just saying.

Let me know if interested. If I get enough interest I'll put up a proper pre-order thread.

If I can scrounge up the dough I would be interested in a cap but no promises.

Same as the cap, standard EVO construction. Balsa sandwich. Works great, I just haven't built an edge that particular way yet.

Ok the Edge is now the same fuse construction as the Cap? Before I seem to remember it being a more traditional fuse design. Either I'm in for one of them. I want the Edge if it's got the stiffer EVO fuse. If not I'll go with a cap.

You're thinking of the mad edge which had a typical stick and tube construction that I call my V1. I did what I call the V2 fuse which was a balsa/foam hybrid then a full balsa sandwich style that I call the V3. Both the cap and edge will have the V3 fuses.

Ian-
Put me down for 3 Evo540's...

Everyone else-
Stay tuned for my "Gettin' Hitched Sale"... Gotta make some room for the new Beemer. Downsizing the slab fleet will pay for these three kits.

Lol , investing in unobtainium is safer than the stock exchange . We have constrictor and Mo to sell them to later

If your looking at after Christmas for payment I'll take one

Well we're approaching the 10 kits mark that I wanted to hit to make it worthwhile to do. If a few more are in I'll start moving things along.

Are the wings for the EVO Edge the same as the Mad Edge?

50" span

4.5-5 lbs electric

4.75-5.25 lbs nitro

Hope this helps.

Did the Mad Edge have a quad taper wing? Or was the tip the same thickness as the root, like the MadYak60?

EVO Cap and Edge use the same root rib as the Mad series, but are tapered to the tip from there. MadCap tip rib is about an 1" thinner than my MadYak.

Has anyone electrified one of these yet? Curious roughly what size motor it requires. Hell, I may make it glow, even though I sold all of my glow equipment and swore it was electric and gas from now on.
