Ian.....I just spoke to Santa and he wanted to know if this project was still on track. Said it is on many Christmas lists and he would like to make it happen since the Bros are such an awesome group. He even mentioned he hopes to make it to Nash this year, but indicated he has been having some problems with Ms. Claus. He expects that to get worked out though because he's been seeking advice from Constrictor. Let me know and I'll pass the word back to him.

Thanks!

Somehow missed this thread popping up...

Sadly, this is WAY behind schedule. I've largely put things on hold until I get working with the local CNC-er here in Houston and/or go ahead and build my own. I have the plans all ready to go but since I made the decision to personally cut my kits things have been slow. I still need to get production prototypes cut and built and there's no way that's happening in time for Christmas. For that matter I'll be lucky to have them ready for hobro unless I get a heavyweight bench troll to help me out.

You know, I'm going to look into some stop gap measures to see if I can't get some kits cut in the mean time.

I'll level with everyone here. I've been working with Zam for a while now to try and get him started cutting these but our schedules don't seem to work well together. We both seem to end up working in little bursts of activity and they rarely are at the same time. Its not his fault at all, our schedules just don't mesh well. That plus general interest has led me to look into either doing my own cutting using a local machine of building my own cutter. What is my fault is for not getting back to him for a while now while all this has been gelling out in my mind.

I've offered to pay for his time spent setting things up since no matter what/who/how I end up cutting these kits, I never want to leave any of the bros feeling burnt.

I just want to make sure that everyone knows what is going on and make sure that there's no hard feelings anywhere.

I find that that is the best policy, & respect your honesty Ian :) taking longer for me is good, as right now I would not be able to purchase anyways... kids/christmas/slow time in my business

Ok three then.

One of these days I'll try and figure something out for you guys. The move to a quad taper wing made adding a wing tube a lot harder. I might take some inspiration from the sbach crutch style center and draw up a version of the plans to build it that way. Right now though I'm more concerned with getting the regular version to market than drawing new versions!

I was just jerking her chain bro. I have many more pressing issues at the moment. Truly hope it all works out good for you. Love to watch that thing as it's a killer looking bird.

I'm on it, I really am! I know I'm slower than a slug at this stuff...

On the plus side, my plans are to stock these once I have them in production. That means that while it may take a while to get them obtanium, they will remain obtanium past that point.

Life is still busy getting in the way of these. I've been sick lately and to add insult to injury we're slammed at work with pre-holiday jobs. I did manage to get the cap files 100% ready for prototype cut last night. I'll take care of the edge if I get time tonight and then I can order material.
