:dead:

Kind of bitter sweet demise of my MA60 today. I was having a good day till the Rx came unplugged from the switch. Went in 15' in front of me full bore. I'll have to get some "dead mojo" pics up later.

Time to order up a Primo 60.

Sorry for your loss, that was a beautiful covering job. I've learned to put a piece of shrink tubing over all of my battery/switch/rx connections for that very reason. Blenders tend to shake things loose over time.

Here's postmortem pics.

Dragracer,
Yes, switch to battery is secured, switch to Rx came unplugged. You are right about the Blenders though, probably what did it. Had the Rx totally packed in foam, the whole bay was filled with foam for that matter. One of those things

The engine is ok, but the crack pipe is toast.

I'll take a look at it a little more in depth when I'm stripping the gear out of it. Maybe just wick in a little thin & packing tape.

Seriously the wing is clapped, spars broken on both sides of the fuse, the motor mount is wasted too. I think it will be a lot easier to stomp it and and go Primo.

I kinda like the fact that the engine mount broke away, might have saved damage to the Saito??

Mike,

The weathers bad here. 3 to 7 in. of snow tonight and the winds been blow here for a month of Sundays. I'm hoping for Sunday or Monday.

How much right thrust do you have ? Curious on flight time and prop you decided to use . I got a GR-45 that should of been here today . But that damn UPS guy just kept going . I have some 4s 2200mah 20c packs . Wonder how they would do . I guess since its a slab putting one on one side of the fuse couldn't throw the lateral balace off too much .

I'm useing one washer (about 1/16) for right thrust and I'm using 15x6 APC. You should start with a 14X6 or 7. The GR-45 is a great motor, pull out is as good or better than an .82. I had Rookie put the Mojo through it paces, harder flying than I do, Plus some snaps, and waterfalls only a little hovering. His flight lasted 4:30 and used 80% of the 3300Mah batteries. When I JUST tried to hover and harrier around with two or three 10 second Vert line, I was using 52% of the battery in 4:00 minutes. 68 AMPs was my biggest draw this weekend for around 947 Watts.

My balance is very close.

Hope this helps.

I'm bummed out . I checked UPS tracking then called them and they damaged my GR-45 and won't deliver it . They said they call the sender to find out what they want to do . I said I bought it and I will tell you want I want you to do . UPS said it doesn't work that way . I get stuff from China sent USPS and have never had a problem .

Anyhow I was wondering if I went 5s and proped down if I wouldn't get more flight time . I had a EF Yak54e that started out with 3s 2200mah 20c with a torque 2814/820 and a 13x6.5e . I was lucky to get 5 min. sport flying . I switched to 4s 2200 20c with the same prop and was only using half the capacity for 5 min . Of course I turned the limit of the throttle down so I wouldn't overamp the motor and ESC . I was getting about 650 watts 4s and 411 watts 3s . I know the current draw at wot is higher 4s but think I didn't have to be on the throttle as much to get the same thrust or something like that .

I was going to put this motor in a 3DHS SHP but you got me stoked on the electric MOJO .

Can I recommend the GR60? With a 4s 3700 mah 20C pack, I'm in the 1050 watt range running a 15x7 Xoar. Got a 15x8 e-APC to try on it tomorrow to see what numbers I can get.

Here's some before and after pics of Erik's old Mojo 60 that he gave me. I stretched the fuse 3", made the elevator and rudder bigger the fuse is taller. Thanks Erik.
