There is a thing called antivirus software . Why are we not all using this stuff . With all the hacks why do some neglect something like this when hacks have the potential to really fuck up your life ?

Took it to the PC guy. Computer was ok but needed wiped just to make sure.
I had norton antivirus already on it.

What I was really worried about was the IP thing but he said every time I reset my box it get a new one so I'm good there.
Now my wife knows not to trust anything again and has reset all her passwords.

Anyone have anything better than norton? Obviously it doesn't work.

I have Norton on everything . I did have an issue about 5 years ago but nothing since . Theres other software out but I only used Mcafee once . Glad to see you do have it Jake . Stay away from sponsored news articles . Sometimes those take you to bad places . Turning popup blocker on high really helps but you cant click on links sometimes if it leaves the site your on . Turn anti phishing on too . Don't let Norton or anyone remember your passwords . You can also set your internet options to delete all cookies when you leave explorer .

BTW, the car-hack thing is on its way: http://blog.caranddriver.com/can-your-car-really-be-hacked-six-points-to-know/ The more 4G wifi hotspot/mobile nav/wireless yada yada yada cars add, the more vulnerable they are becoming...

I know I have pop up blocker "on" but not sure if its on high or not. Never had a pop up come when I'm on the computer. Nó sure on the cookies and only my phone saves user names. Nothing saves passwords. Atleast on my stuff.

I'm not so sure you need to restore. Is there actually a virus on your computer, or was it just a pop-up on the website? If it was a pop-up, just delete and move on.

I think it's about time Linux gives Microsoft a run for the money as far as os's go. Why won't they produce and sell a product that will support everything like wondows does ?
