this is a 75% scaled seniorita out of foam except for tail surfaces. Flies like the seniorita, hovers, etc. but is pretty indestructable and can be built on the cheap.

first, draw outline on foam, or if going into production make a cardboard or liteply template. i used liteply, as i had some and that's about all it's good for.

cut it out, careful to cut straight as you can. split fuse from stab saddle to about 1/2" down from top of nose.

cut out fuse crutch, 12" long plywood, 1-7/8" wide. taper crutch from rear of wing (18-1/2") to 1/2" wide at the tail. mark where top fuse piece ends.

mist crutch and apply glue using acid brush, credit card, etc. for a really thin coat. stick on bottom. appy glue again and stick on top.

use a few pins to hold stab saddle down. rubberband rest every 2" or so. note scrap balsa on saddle area, keeps bands from denting corners. rest is getting rounded so no problem elsewhere.

take snap knife and shave rear fuse down to the stringer.

join wing.i use 3 to 3.5" under 1 panel. makes rudder very effective but it couples in k.e. less dihedral means less rudder, less coupling.

cut 1"X24" ply spar to match wing angle and mark wing 3" from l.e. for spar location.

saw along line with a sawzall blade.

put glue on spar, insert into wing, tape front to back several places top and bottom to pull joint tight, then run tape along slot top and bottom to keep glue in check.

Have you ever flown a fun cub. Damn plane is a blast to fly. Not on stock power setup though needs more power.

I haven't flown one myself, but saw a CJ at my club fly one, he flew in circles - looked boring.
Although, he made sure that everyone at the field knew how good it was....then I took my foam Mojo 40 out for a spin and he packed and went home.

Ok, I've spiced the story a bit (I'm not that good at flying, at least I can hoover) but the most part of it is true

With a bigger motor it will do some mild 3D. My buddies he used as a trainer for me but when the rates are cranked up it loosens up a bit.

glue the 3/16 sq. t.e. on the wing. note it's angle spliced, not butted at dihedral break.

i prefer just sticking the battery on the bottom of fuse. it's a beater plane that looks kinda good in the air, and flies good. why complicate things and weaken the structure making it have to be reinforced. but 1 of the guys im building for wants the battery inside.

i cut the engine notch out and block sanded it square to the wing saddle. then made a box big enough to fit batt. in sideways.

cut a square hole in foam, and glued box in and to fuse crutch. front flush with firewall cut out. then took scrap 1/8 balsa and filled in sides above box.

mark wingtip 2" in from end and 3" back from l.e.

mark 2" in from tip and draw line on bottom.

see the silver stuff? the plastic on 1 side leaves some of that when peeled off. a piece of masking tape lifts it right off.

take a flexible straightedge and draw curve or make a cardboard template. repeat for other tip.

mark ailerons. a line at 2-1/8 and a line 1-3/4 from t.e.

draw lines at 2" and 2-5/16 from root.

that's where the ailerons will be cut off at.
