PostPosted: Mon Nov 21, 2016 11:55 am

i'm building mine first, so i can make sure it flies right before i build his.

ribs- the plastic template not only easier to draw out and make, it leaves sharper lines when you draw around it.

aaand away we go. can you spot the 4 mods i made already?

there were dozens in the simple series. i built a simple cap 21modded into a 232 with a homemade f/g cowl in h9 chapman colors with a 15 in it once... had a few s.s. ultimates. had a s.s. corsair. all were fun.

I think I've got a Simole Series P-51 mustang in the garage. New in box kit. Interested? Make me an offer.

That's a lot of ribs. I think I would have increased the spacing a little bit and deleted a few ribs from the build.

fairly common practice before d-tube became popular. keeps covering from sagging on l.e. on thick wings.

I'd rather use two smaller sub spars forward of the main spar to prevent sagging in between the ribs.

How about some very small size wheel pants with some big old tundra tires. Would look like the wheels are exploding out of the pants.
