After looking several times at Home Depot & Lowe’s I am only able to get 1” thick foam here. The only 2” available is the pink stuff which is heavier. Not even able to order through either store. I know it has been brought up here before and I wonder if there is a good way to laminate sheets together and be able to hot wire through the adhesive. I did a search and found this stuff. Anyone tried it?

Anything that creates a different resistance is going to cause some type variation in your cut.

What are you trying to do exactly? In a wing Core just have that as centerline of core, so it's not really going to affect the cut.

https://vipgms.com/content/nashville is residential and commercial, so you can purchase there. they have a yard in nashville. they got thick eps in 2x4 blocks for dryvit. look under eips/stucco tab, eps foam.

or just cut wings out of pink and holesaw them, use 1" for fuselages? i use the 3/4"x48"x16" 6 packs for fuses, i think they carry that up there.

Our local Lowes is getting where they don't carry much of anything. Went in looking for a respirator, which they used to have racks of. They no longer carry them. Looked for some 3M-77. Nope. None in stock. Looked for some fiberglass strapping tape. None there, either. No Lowes within 100 miles carries foam board thicker than 1".

I found the pink 2in at h d,had a spot for 2.5 ,said it was in truck back of store,bought the hot stuff glue,but not tried,read if thin can cut with wire.

Hole saw,you saying drill holes in wing to save weight,could you save that much,foam so light,but 1 or 2 oz maybe.

I googled EPS heated concrete floori panels, Definately moving farther north applications. Tons of DIY youtubes on pole barn heated flooring.

Menards carries the 2” here in Indy. Or at least they did last year.

Just checked online. They say they have 189 sheets in stock at my local store. Might need to pick up some this weekend.

We have Lowe’s, HD and Menards here. Menards has best selection, generally better prices and most always in stock. Unfortunately, it is also the store furthest from home.

I built a pbf out of 1/4 blue fanfold and was thinking of making one out of epp, trouble is finding it.

Anyone know where I can get a piece of 5 or 6mm epp like 36"×36" ?

Yeah, in the past I've looked at what was on ebay. $6 for a sheet that's only 1/3rd the size I'm looking for with $15 shipping will make for a rather expensive pbf beater at $33 just for the foam if I buy three sheets and glue them together.

I'm not cheap but I'd be more willing to give this a try http://www.valuehobby.com/airplanes/profile/8mm-epp-g202.html for $32 and it comes cut to size, painted and includes all the hardware.

I guess what I was hoping for was someone who had a source for bulk purchases of epp, not piecemeal., but thanks anyway.

That G-202 is a favorite of many here. I have worn out beater, a new one unflown and 1 or 2 still in the box. I love them for a backyard basher.

I just bought one of those valuehobby G202's last week and flew it for the first time this weekend (first time I have flown anything in many years). It is unbelievable how good a couple pieces of foam can fly. I would highly recommend it.
