Hey bros I want to start posting and contributing a little more to the brother hood. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to post pictures? I’ve tried to create urls with no success. How are y’all doing it? Also I can’t get a profile picture to load for anything. I’ve compressed and shrunk with no success

Are you using the "Upload Attachment" feature? If not, try that. Tab for it is right next to "Options" tab just under the post window. Kinda hard to see as it's dark blue text on black.

Hello. I'll jump in with a post.

I recently got the RC bug back to start flying again after a couple year break. I needed to try something different so I picked up a Motion RC Mirage 2000 80mm edf. Runs 6s 4000mah and has enough power to hover. I removed the landing gear since it is pretty useless on anything but pavement or golf green grass. It easily hand launches and belly lands. You can fly really fast or really slow high alpha with it. Being a delta makes it really stable, you can pull back on the elevator with no throttle and it just sinks with minimal wing rock. i've been doing low harrier style flying with it. Only set back is 4-5 minute flights tops. I tried a little hovering up high and its really different because you have nothing blasting over the control surfaces, so you have to just balance it for a bit. I don't cheat with gyros. So far I really like it, these edf's seem to have come a long way over the past 4-5 years, the last foam edf I tried barely flew and had crappo servos...this one has way better quality stuff all around.

Here is the site... https://www.motionrc.com/products/freew ... df-jet-pnp

Also picked up a TH crack camel for flying in the yard, uses the same stuffins as the venerable Value Hobby Giles 202 which I had laying around. it came out a bit heavy but still flys pretty good. I'm still tweaking the cg and lateral balance to get better KE, pulls a bit to the belly.
I ordered a VH sbach and hope to get that together this weekend.

Hopefully I will finally finish my Doug G Slick soon, been framed up for 2 years now. They are awesome planes.

Sometimes you gotta just leave a hobby for a while to appreciate it again.

Apparently there is still some ppl hanging around. I was disappointed getting back into the hobby after almost 10 years that balsa profiles are almost nonexistent now. Do y’all happen to know the thickness of a mojo 60 motor mount? I found a guy willing to cut a couple short kits. I know the 40 is 1/4 doubled up. Need a home for this Saito 100

1/2 inch final. Don't remember if it was doubled up 1/4.

Having said that, that's on my pre-MoAss Mojo. I know some guys were having vibration issues way back then. Did later kits have any mods to the motor mount?

I would think a small run of mojo 60's would sell. In the right hands they are awesome flyers.

Thanks! I'm really surprised by the performance. It is really nimble and forgiving. Here is a guy that runs the same model without the landing gear. I think I actually have a hotter newer motor, inrunner with 12 blade fan.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zISD4wChyao

On my third flight (still with LG) the model never rotated on take off and went into high grass which snapped the fuse in half from the front lg snagging
I fixed the fuse and decided to remove the LG after watching this video.

You're most welcome!

I haven't gone way back to the early Mojo kit threads recently, but do remember some vibration comments. Some of the guys were beefing up the mount with light weight aluminum. So when building mine I did a motor mount mod with angled aluminum. Surprisingly, I was still able to keep the overall weight near 5lbs. I cut a dado in the motor mount to accommodate the angle leg that rests on the mount. I'm on my phone but will post a pic or two of it when I get to my computer.
