Let me add, I have several 82's and like them on this size plane. I have run 15 and 30%, 15 works fine, 30 makes a difference but for me, I needed to re-tune the low speed needle between the fuels. Not sure the 30 was worth the extra expense for the minimal gain in performance.

The 82 is great for the old school low and slow harriers and will get you out of a hover but you won't be winning any vert drags.

Xoar 14x6 or Falcon 14x6 works well too. OS type "F" plug or original saito plug.

What I like is with 8 oz of fuel, a well tuned low end needle, and not doing too much full throttle, you can fly about 15 minutes on a tank...and it gets a bit more responsive as the tank gets below 1/2 (which is where you should tune it)

Oh, and don't skimp on the throttle servo, invest in something stout for sure. :drink:

Agreed...all around.

If cost of fuel is a concern mix your own.
Check local hot rod shops for nitro and alcohol.
I use Avenger oil (fuelman).
Last I checked 30% cost me 17.00 per gallon.
Nitro and alcohol prices vary alot.
Then you can mix any ratio you want.
When I run out of Avenger I want to try something different as I have some rust issues.
Also I add 2 to 3 ozs of castor to each gallon.
Hope this helps.

You know, that’s honestly not something I considered doing. May have to make some phone calls this week and check into it.

20cc gas is an option, too. make a 150% scaled up lamsuk, foam it, and fly on the cheap-with a plane that will fly as good or better than anything out there.

Gas would be the heaviest, lowest power option available.
1) Whistlepig Rye
2) Bookers
3) High West Double Rye
4) Blanton's
5) Bakers
6) Woodford
7) four roses small batch
8) Berheim's Rye
9) Widow Jane
10) Black maple hill

One new thing at a time.

I got the saito in the mail the other day. It’s so shiny and pretty, I almost hate to mount it to such a ragged ass Sabre airframe. :D

Better not to break in a new engine on a new slab. Exhaust goo will be black the first half gallon.

Good to know. My Sabre is not pretty by any means so I’m not too worried about it.

Gas would be the cheapest, most reliable non deadstick cowpie landing option available.

fixed it!

Update: Got the Saito installed and I ran it in the yard a bit to get some fuel through it the other day, but was getting a lot of bubbles in the fuel line due to the vibration. snagged a bubbleless clunk and installed it and it cured the bubbles in the line. Took it out to the field today and got two flights in. It flew great and it fits my flying style nicely. I'm very happy. :tu: :tu:
