What receivers are they running in the gassers and does going with an FrSky give you access to RX pack voltage whereas a Futaba R2008 would not?

My RX8R Pro does give pack voltage telemetry and RSSI. And they're supposed to be less susceptible to ignition noise. No issues on my 35cc Stick so far.

I ran X6R and X8R in my gassers. Full telemetry back if you no how to set it up. All I ever cared about was to have a low voltage alarm for RX batts.

Cool, that's one of the reasons I didn't leave Futaba years ago when the Taranis and Jeti became very popular. I would like to know if my RX battery is getting low and that was easily setup with FASSTest.

All the other telemetry is cool but I had flown for a decade without it.

I've been going through some of these videos on setting up the TX16S and it's helped a lot. I need to check a few things but I'm hoping to be able to use my work laptop even though exporting data is blocked. I'm not sure if it's because of a lack of models or what but I at least got Companion to setup backup folders etc.

Well I have setup and bound the RadioMaster TX16S for my Twisted Hobbys Edge 540. I noticed some issues with the airframe that must have happened the last time I dorked it so I'm working on those repairs. I also have a jittery rudder servo if I do some rapid movements on the stick but I am thinking that is just because I need to fine tune for the receiver better.

I also plan on adjusting the throttle stick tomorrow because I can feel a tiny bit of ratcheting.

I decided I needed to give the FrSky receivers a try too so I ordered a RX6R receiver this morning. I played around with adjusting the tune on the frequency and a 6 channel Futaba SFHSS receiver. I setup the failsafe to cut the motor on at about 15% stick maybe. So what I did is went up and down like with the receivers that you get the RSSI feedback and when the motor (without the prop on I might add) would cut on and not turn off, I considered that to be a permanent loss of signal and then used that to average the numbers for the tune.

They're a lot more user friendly these days than when OpenTX first came out. It does take some adjustment but I'm going to give it a try. I do like the user friendlyness and reliability of Futaba but their service is poor now. Might just be a deal where I get a new transmitter every 3-4 years instead of buying one for the long haul.

Granted I assumed I would fly the 14SG for 3-4 years but I see no reason to upgrade given the cost of what a new one runs these days. Maybe it's a sign of basically being middle aged

That's exactly opposite from your advice in my WANTED post. OpenTx is definitely NOT kiss or tlar. :D
