Profile Fuselage Plans

PostPosted: Wed Apr 21, 2021 12:16 pm

Just trashed a Hobby Hanger Twist 40 but the wing is perfect. I would like to purchase plans for a 40-size profile - MOJO or HOTTS plans would likely work just fine such that I can build the fuse plus the tail feathers and make a 11cc gasser. Anything like that available?

the laminar yak is, as always, free. 2nd post has plans file, take to office depot or whatever and print. there's also a foam lamsuk thread made outa 3/4 building foam if you really cheap.

the lamyak fuse is balanced. no coupling, k.e. figure 8's are a breeze.

just trace around wing root rib to modify cutout to suit. build rest as plans show. you will have a 4 lb. or less slab that's a hoot.

i started a foam one today for seff, by the way. you show up, i let you fly it!

you can send me some money- but i'd rather you enjoy a great flying free plane. the guys in brazil, argentina, mexico, australia, new zealand, india etc. etc. all do!

here's a vid from sylvio, one of the south american bros. is it a badass plane? or a badass sylvio? or both?

the true test of a design, however, is how it flies after "battle damage" and beers... caveman and tarzan (colton clark) tearing it up! of course, colton has a lotta time on all sizes of lamyak up to 50cc... and magic thumbs... but still...

now, i've flown in the gully at rough river lake many years ago. the wind's totally unpredictable. guy's got skilz!!!

here's jeremy bonough flying a lostmyplanes kit of the lammy... 10 years ago?

yeah, the rudder and elevator work. right now. as needed. or else he couldn't catch it outa inverted harrier! a really cool move, by the way.

I did this a few years back. This was v2. Flew a hell of a lot better than the original!

Here's the first version. viewtopic.php?f=23&t=15448&p=268078&hilit=Twist#p268078
I didn't like the wing low. V2 flew much better.

Yeah, if that Lamyak would have had bigger ailerons, I could have got him in less than 30 seconds. :drink:

We got WF thinking them htx may not be so good. AS for st servos, the st jr servos may not be fast, but never had one fail, good centering, and get them cheap. How good is good enough, there more than enough for foam, need more power, use two. I mean,WF builds on cheap,i will bring him some jr to try, some htx to,if he dare to use such junk. May find he can fly in straight line with better servos. :tu: :tu:

i'd have gotten away with it, too, if it wasn't for them meddling small ailerons! wait, i had corona swervos in that one, too, i think. and a radio hit. and a cramp in my left thumb. and an alligator was biting my toe. the sun was in my eyes. kristi was distracting me. the motor wasn't tuned right. d'oh! :D
