Lipo balancing charger 2020

I see that my decade old, or older, charger is probably not going to do the job for my e-flight adventures. So I'm hoping you knowledgable e gurus could give us new e guys recommendations on lipo balance chargers - hopefully something durable and cheap enough we don't have to rob a bank to buy one.

Gus recommended this one about a year ago. Tech changes quickly. Is this still a viable choice? Something better available? Throw us new e-guys a bone here and please share your charger wisdom and experience.

It's out of stock, of course.

I dunno how big your batteries are, but I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/SKYRC-LiIon-Batt ... 404&sr=8-1

It's not the wattage of some of the other models people have listed here, but it's dead simple to use and I dig it. I've had it a few years and have had zero issues.

iCharger is the best and easiest to use IMO.

Easiest???????

I use FMA chargers, specifically the GT1200. They are phasing out the GT series so the 1200 is harder to get. I've heard great things about the iCharger so I recommended one to a friend - he got the 308DUO. The GT1200 is very intuitive - I would bet money anyone here could get a battery charging in a few minutes without any instruction. I, for the life of me, couldn't figure out how to charge a single 6S battery on the 308. We read the instructions and watched a Youtube video to figure out how to charge. The iCharger is a great charger, but I would consider it more for a techno geek, like Thumbskull. Any of the GT series chargers will be much easier to use.

I have two iCharger 206B's, with a 85A 900W power supply from R+L Power. I can charge at the field with my 700W generator from Harbor Freight.

I have had 106b's, still have 208b's and a 406DUO. Yeah the DUO's are a bit steeper to learn but the B's are simple.

I have a the older Power Lab8 and a GT1200. I use the GT1200 more often. Hell of a price these days..under a buck per 10 Watts charging power for the GT1200. I charger good too. just started with cellpro and kept going. Lots use ICharger also. Both Good units. GT1200 bigger in size but bigger in power.. So depends on how much room you have too I guess..Flip a coin :-) Or see what is in stock and cheapest for the power it can handle. To be honest, most of the time, If I can, I just use my Cellpro 4's. Plug and go there. Maybe the ICharger is that way too. Have fun!

Ok, we have a good idea of everyone's fave charger.. Many require a power supply, some need a car battery. I've got the home charger covered, how are most charging at the field. Since I've got grandkids going to the field with me now, how are most of you charging at the field?

Cheap generator with a computer server power supply. 24v version if your charger can take it. So with a cheap generator you can use yer home setup. At the farmer brown skull field I installed 2 solar panels with a 24v charge controller On a bank of 8 deep cycle batteries. If ya need 12 volts ya just hook up to half the bank. If you can use 24 you use the whole bank. Or ya just hook onto your car. Or bring a deep cycle battery with you. Or keep a charged Lopo handy to jump start your car if you run it down too low. Just ask Jeide. lol

I bring a lawn mower battery to the field with me and use it to charge from. I've got two Reaktor 300 watt chargers that handle everything I need, and a 30 amp power supply from ebay to power them at home. Personally, I don't see any reason to replace your Reaktor 250 watt charger. But if you decide to sell it, let me know.

My Triton 2 is costing me cells and it’s way out of date so a new charger will end up saving me more than it costs.

I wanted to get a 2 channel but it looks more cost effective to get two 1 channels.

There’s a toolkit M6D 2 channel that rcmodelreviews just covered that has same features but 250watts per channel.

I think I’ll get a Toolkit M6D with a couple safety parallel balance boards and I can charge different S values at the same time or I would have to spend triple for ISDT 2 channel with 1000watts and 8S capability.
Anyone using toolkit charger?

I have a converted server power supply from FeatherMerchantRC.com and I bought a Dirty Hands Tools 700w continous inverter generator for $260 3 years ago.
