I have tried the threaded shaft and prop saver on completely same setup (ran one then swapped to the other on same plane) and there is noticeable difference in power. Even with 6 sling shot rubbers holding prop so tight it wouldn't move on the hub it still robbed power in a punch out. And at that point I still broke props.

Here is my secret recipe to replace the O-Rings. Go to medical supply store buy some surgical tubing. Can't remember the size. Use a single edge razor blade and carefully slice some off the end. Spend a few minutes doing this and you'll get pretty good at it. I didn't actually buy my tubing as my daughter works at a hospital

Someone at Evans / Cappy Bro, probably C/F, said that they were using veterinary castration bands. I would have never thought of them but you know they have to be tough and tight......yikes.

I used to do that, but I have better luck from using the yellow tubing from a daisy slingshot.

I have heard this and plan to try it soon. Probably be a royal pain to put on, but once they are on it should hold extremely well.

Says the 3D Yoda.

Yeah, I think I probably crash more than you! Lol. I never thought to try a tiny shaft. Just figured they would bend or break.

I'm a little too busy to work on it right now but given the cost and the fact that I would like something smaller than the TH 39" planes to take with me to the field, I'm really glad I found the information on it here.

Excellent! You'll love it!
If you don't use the threaded shaft motor, then go with the mini zip ties to hold the prop. :tu:

Make sure you follow Spaz (the designer) blog when when assembling:
