OMP 47" Edge V3 ARF

The profiles that we fly that are currently in production

PostPosted: Mon Jan 11, 2010 2:20 pm

Well, seeing as my Mayhem 40 bit the dust yesterday (old planes and snap rolls aren't a good combination if you really need a horizontal stab to fly - and I do) - I think I'll pull the trigger on the red/white/blue 47" Edge later today.

Buddy of mine maidened his yesterday at the field (OS 70), let me fly a tank through it. Should be a FINE home for my Saito 72 :)

Welcome to the hood! Your screen name looks familiar. Maybe I've seen it around on RCU or RCG. Regardless, you'll love this place. Sit back and enjoy the ride. :)

Started last night - fuse is almost done. PITA to get the rear servo wires routed up forward, but done :)

She FLIES!

And better yet - she makes me look like I know WTF I'm doing :)

Put 4 tanks through her yesterday at Prado. Leaned the Saito 72 out a bunch on the bottom end - last flight was 8 -1/2 minutes with fuel left (reset the timer to 9 minutes). Going to throw some "heavy" clear tape on the lower wing edges.

CG was right at 5", seemed a little tail heavy but I'm going to wait until after I install an aluminum spinner to make any decisions on rebalancing.

You got that right. It was still in the truck yesterday, I was wondering how much trouble I'd get in for flying it at work :)

One of the great things about a 40 size slab is taking it to work and going out at lunch or just after work for a quick fix. :D

hey old fart,
you don`t need a timer, do a "fuel check". a low, slow, right to left pass. that`s how we do it.

I guess that's right! Didn't realize you worked at LAX. Guess they probably don't like little toy airplanes flying around the airport!

I love this plane! I am total FNG to this 3-D shit and even a moron like me can hover this plane. I flew it today and a guy had a 3DHS AJ Slick and he really made me feel like a CJ at first. He was/is alot better than me, but after he left, I tried some of his shit and I could do it! For sure, not as smooth or cool, but damn, this is a great plane!
