OMP Yak 47 Hardware

Can anyone tell me the purpose of the extra bag of 4 socket head screws, nuts, washers and 4 short pieces of balsa wood are for? Is everyone upgrading the linkages / pushrods / control horns as well? I've used the landing gear but I have replaced the tail wheel with a coat hanger style tail skid? I've also used Great Planes CA hinges in place of the supplied CA hinges.

Been a long time sense I built one NIB but I used all the stock hardware and it was all fine.

How long are the bolts and what diameter? If they aren't the ones for mounting the landing gear to the fuse, then some of those kits actually supplied bolts for mounting the motor. Hopefully some of the other guys will chime in on the pieces of balsa and these bolts. I have one that that is about eight years old. Been fixed a few times, but I still fly it some each year, a nice flying slab. Let us know how you like it after you get some flights on it.

The bolts are 4 x 30mm (too big for an OS 46 / 55 engine). The two pieces of balsa are 80 x 10 x 8 mm (3/8 x 5/16), the other two are 40 x 8 x 6 mm (5/16 x 1/4). There is no reference in the instructions or the pictures as to where they should go.
